The Loft is excited to announce San Diego's first show with Bonnie Dune a rock/indie band from Paso Robles/LA, California made up of lead singer Justin Wilczynski and producer/co-writer Jason Massey, along with Seth Roberts, from the band Lakes and formerly of Watashi Wa; Joshua Kerr, formerly of Pretty the Quick Black Eyes; and Cory Montieth, known for his role as Finn Hudson on Glee.
Justin grew up on a ranch far outside of Paso
Robles. Jason lived in a mansion in Paso. The two were aware of each other
and each others music abilities, but never spoke until early high school.
Organically they began to collaborate and write music together. They would
record demos together out at the ranch in an old abandoned saloon. Justin
and Jason's desire was to write music that inspired, music of worth. They
called those recordings The Bonnie Dune Sessions, which later became,
Bonnie Dune. In need of a drummer, Justin called on Cory Monteith, his co-star from the MTV show Kaya and now plays Finn Hudson on Glee. Bonnie Dune also added Seth Roberts, the former lead vocalist of Watashi Wa and currently also of a new ensemble of musicians called Lakes, and Joshua Kerr, a talented Los Angeles bassist who recorded and played with Pretty the Quick Black Eyes. Although Jason no longer plays with the band, he continues to play a significant role as a producer and co-writer of many of Bonnie Dune’s songs.
With California-inspired music, Bonnie Dune leaves listeners in an overwhelming state of calm, and an imaginative experience that places them in the middle of the ocean - alone with their thoughts whether they be of lost loves, or hopes for and memories of better days. The band is quickly being recognized for their frequent fan interaction and for their engaging music. With quiet confidence and California sounds, Bonnie Dune set to release an album later this year.
Armed with a stack of R&B infused pop-rock songs, Jared Lee’s music is full of radio-ready anthemic choruses, soaring guitars, powerful drums, and highlighted with soulful vocals that cut right to the core. His songs were just featured on American Idol and Radio Sophie’s 103.7 new music spectacle, Sophie’s Challenge.
