A glimpse into the future of filmmaking, starring the
innovation and talent of our very own UC San Diego students.
This highly-competitive festival, selected by a panel of
film industry professionals, always surprises with a broadspectrum
of themes and styles. From darkly humorous to
poignant, insightful, and simply beautiful, the Up&Coming
Student Film Festival is a grab-bag of delights. What remains
consistent from year to year is the stunning originality, both conceptually and technically, of these home-grown cinematic accomplishments.

The following 10 films were selected for the Up&Coming student film
festival. It was a hard choice to make for the jury panel. We received a
total of 40 films in a variety of genres. Even if your film was not
selected for the festival, please join us to support your filmmaking peers
on May 19, at 7pm. The night starts off with live music by the Los Angeles
based band the Janks, free pizza, screenings, gift bags and a jury panel
discussion.
The order of the following films were selected to screen in the Up&Coming
Film Festival. They are listed in random order. Awards will be presented
at the festival.
