DRESSER/NAKATANI/TURETZKYbowed gongs and basses
In April of 2009, world renowned bass masters Mark Dresser and Bert Turetzky were in Tel Aviv, Israel, performing as part of "Deep Tones for Peace" Project. Fatefully, Tatsuya Nakatani, an astonishing percussionist in his own rite, was also in town, performing with another bass master, Barre Phillips, and clarinetist Harold Rubin. Dresser and Turetzky were both in the house as the band held court, mesmerizing the capacity crowd. After the show, Turetzky approached Nakatani, enthusiastically inviting him to perform in San Diego. |
