The Socal Sound Byte series is glad to premiere its Reggae Rendition featuring beachy, Jamaican feels and soulful Rastafarian fusion. Unwind to the relaxing rhythms of the Socal reggae band Roots Vision

Roots Vision, a 7 piece reggae band based out of the heart of San Diego's north county, influenced by many great bands and reggae artist, Roots Vision's music is ment to send out positive vibrations with messages of peace, LoVe and unity. Roots Vision was founded in Mid 2004 and later, in mid 2007, the band made a few adjustment with new members and a new sound that you hear today. Roots Vision's music is an original sound made for everyone, all races, all cultures, all ages and all people.

Social Green, the band name itself refers to ignorant youth and appropriately became the mantra they followed. With sights set on challenging the status quo, Social Green sought to blend reagge, ska, rock and funk under an umbrella of culturally and socially thought provoking lyrics.

"Socal Sound Bytes has become an integral part of The Loft. This series is representative of our hopes to expose UCSD students and San Diego residents of under-the-radar groups emerging in the Southern California music scene. Bringing fresh artists onto the scene gives them the opportunity to get their names out there, actualize aspirations, and fulfill ambitions, and reflects the very essence of what goes on everyday at UC San Diego. By starting this series from scratch, we were able to create it based on a few basic principles that accurately personify The Loft, where emerging pop culture and social crossroads collide."
