WSET Intermediate Certificate

The WSET Intermediate Certificate is intended as vocational training in product knowledge for those employed in the drinks industry who have little previous knowledge of wines and spirits.

The course is also appropriate for those not employed in the drinks industry but who have a serious interest in wine, and wish to broaden their knowledge in a structured way.

The Intermediate Certificate course covers the wines and spirits of the world and is followed by a one-hour multiple choice examination. Wine tasting is a part of every class.

Course Programme
° Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting and food and wine matching
° Grape growing and wine making
° Key wine and spirit producing regions
° Key grape varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Syrah, and Grenache
° Sparkling and sweet wines
° Fortified wines plus spirits and liquers.

Course Schedule
Classes will be held during October and November for 7 weeks plus an additional exam date.

Class 1 begins on October 10th from 9:30am-1.30pm
Class 2 is on October 17th from 9:30-11:30am
Class 3 is on October 24th from 9:30-11:30am
Class 4 is on October 31st from 9:30-11:30am
Class 5 is on November 7th from 9:30-11:30am
Class 6 is on November 14th from 9:30-11:30am
Class 7 is on November 21st from 9:30-11:30am

Course Pricing and to Enroll
The Intermediate Certification costs $675 for the teaching and all course materials. The exam is optional and costs $125 in addition. 10% booking discounts if you enroll with at least one other person.
