broadside ballads
The White Buffalo is quite possibly a legend in the making. A throwback to the time of hard touring, hard drinking artists who really lived what they sang about. Everything about him is big, from his imposing physical size to his amazing vocal range. He’s as comfortable playing in a dive bar as he is in front of thousands in a European arena. With only an EP out, but literally hundreds of songs written and more coming all the time, the future is exciting for a guy who has that much raw talent.
Matt Grundy's father, veteran blues and jazz harmonica guru Mo’ Grundy, started out six-year-old Matt with a well-seasoned Fender Bronco and some basic blues licks. It was soon obvious to his family that Matt had inherited dad’s “Gift” for music. Within few short years, Matt was making regular appearances accompanying his dad on stage around the Southern California music scene. Finally, with his chops honed and passion to break through, Matt flourished in the Orange County music scene, catching the eyes and ears of surf-rocker Donavon Frankenreiter. For the past seven years, Matt’s skills have continued to mature and evolve while touring the world as Donavon’s bassist and collaborator–earning his solo-artist opening act credentials on their 2008 Pacific Rim tour.
