student films by famous filmmakers
Join us for Press Rewind, an inspiring evening that offers a rare glimpse at the earliest works of some of today’s most acclaimed cinematic auteurs. Each film was handpicked by ArtPower! Film within the theme of "fantastic comedy." You will want to check out Chris Nolan's early work (Batman and Memento) and the 2005 Oscar-winning work of Martin McDonogh (In Bruges).
On May 20, an esteemed jury of
film professionals will recognize excellence in UCSD student filmmaking at our Up&Coming
Student Film Festival. The evening includes films, an awards ceremony, and a postscreening
discussion. Pre-Flix Mix [7-8pm] with B.F. Taddy and The Moonlight Swingers
ArtTalks! Post-performance conversation with Tara Knight, UCSD Theater & Dance Department Professor and filmmaker, and Rebecca Webb, ArtPower! Film Curator.
