Water in Focusa multimedia exhibitionWATER IN FOCUS Outside the Lens, ArtPower! Film, The Loft and The Cross Cultural Center present Water in Focus, a global photography project and multimedia exhibition that calls youth to action as they document the use, waste, conservation and pollution of our most precious resource through words and images. Join us for a celebratory evening in The Loft to honor the evocative photography and live poetry by international youth, and enjoy tasty treats and a special water video montage. Later in the evening, we will turn up the volume with special musical guests! We will also screen Flow in the Loft Video Gallery during this important exhibition. During the event, The Cross Cultural Center (CCC) will open their doors to view a special photography exhibition by photographer Jason Benjamin Smith, a professional photographer who creates images for magazines and conservation organizations. Jason is based in San Diego, California. On Friday, April 24 at 12 PM, in conjunction with this exciting exhibition, the CCC will also be offering a workshop with photographer Jason Benjamin Smith and Benjamin McCue of Wild Coast’s Clean Water Now! who will talk about the pollution in the Tijuana River and how it impacts people on both side of the border. The workshop will focus on how the Tijuana river pollution is an environmental justice issue, and what we can all do to keep our water clean and people safe. |
