Nortec Collective: Bostich & Fussiblewith screening of iron fist
The timeless camp of Reefer Madness is balanced by genuine mystery and
absorbing drama in Iron Fist, director Gabriel García Moreno’s 1927 tale of a
young couple locked in a damning world of vice. Introduced to the euphoric effects
of morphine by a mysterious doctor, the couple soon becomes involved in a
malevolent kidnapping plot while navigating a dark underworld of drug dens and
forbidden pleasures. In this live performance and film screening, Tijuana-based
electronica specialists Nortec Collective retool the soundtrack by blending traditional
Mexican music with contemporary beats. [Gabriel García Moreno, 1927, Mexico, 77 min] |
