OVERVIEW
This season, we are presenting an even bigger and better student film festival, including a brand new "Submission Writing Workshop" on February 25. Students will learn how to professionally present and submit their DVD and filmmaker statements, and learn about the best festivals to enter! This workshop will be taught by Larry Zeiger, a well-respected producer, festival founder of Best Fest, and jury member of several prestigious international film festivals.

This workshop will be presented in conjunction with the Up&Coming Student Film Festival featuring screenings, a pizza party reception, live music, and a jury panel discussion. This year the panel will include UCSD alumnus and chief curator for the Museum of Modern Art Raj Rajendra, who also curates MOMA'sNew Directors/New Films Series, known for launching emerging filmmakers' careers.

A quote from a happy Up&Coming '09 Filmmaker

"It is an honor to be here [Up&Coming 2009]. Filmmaking is such a tough industry, so it's definitely inspiring to be awarded by other filmmakers. This makes me want to go on and direct more."–Zach Schamberg, '09
